The Board of Real Property Assessments and Appeals issued a new application form Real Property Assessments Appeal.
Washington, DC – On Wednesday, July 7, 2010, the Board of Real Property Assessments and Appeals issued a new application form Real Property Assessments Appeal. If a petitioner is appealing the assessment for a commercial property, a Schedule A form – Property Information Sheet – must also be filed. The new form will expedite the second level appeals process.
When preparing the application form for Real Property Assessments, a petitioner must:
- Provide the Tax Year that the Assessment is being appealed;
- Designate whether the appeal is for a residential or commercial property;
- File a Schedule A Form – Property Information Sheet—if appealing an assessment for a commercial property;
- Specify whether you want to appear before the Board; and
- Submit all available supporting evidence with the appeal application. IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED BY THE BOARD, ALL SUPPORTING EVIDENCE MUST BE SUBMITTED WHEN THE APPEAL IS FILED WITH THE BOARD.
