Gizachew Andargeh now serves as the Executive Director of the Real Property Tax Appeals Commission. He is an internationally trained city planner and experienced public servant with policy and operations expertise. His public service includes providing policy counsel for the Office of the Director of the District Department of Transportation and scaling business development and investments during his tenure as the International Business Manager at the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, including ED-5 real estate investment projects across the city. He Served as the Export Manager in the D.C. Department of Small and Local Business Development, counseling small business sales fo foreign markets and helping to increase small business profits. He began his career in District government with the D.C Office of Planning and led the development of the 14th Street N.W. Revitalization Plan.
Gizachew serves on the Board of Trustees at IDEA Public Charter School in Ward 7 and on the Board of Directors for Project Create DC which provides accessible arts education to District youth. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and earned his Master's degree at the University of Cape Town.
